It's good practice to QA Flag your console.Turn off internet connections when updating CFW's.( Wifi and Ethernet cable.).Usually brick reports happen the first 24-48 Hours. Allow the community to conduct test as some CFW do not get proper testing and even ones that do some models can act differently so its best to give it at least a 3 day wait. DO NOT RUSH to install a CFW / MFW Release.
If you do not own a HARDWARE FLASHER or have the means to recover from a possible brick.Disable any Spoofs, if you were previously on a CFW and it had a SPOOFER running, disable it before installing a new CFW.( see tut) - to be sure you do not corrupt your PS3 Console FLASH and cause a console brick. if you have CFW compatable model you can modify the Flash for CFW installation with toolset if you cant install CFW then you need to see PS3HEN. So be sure to run bguerville's toolset to see which path you need to for explanation. *NOTE all console can use bguerville toolset, It will show if you can install PS3 CFW or PS3HEN.
